Announcements
Notice on Stoles and Cords
Due to this year's changes to our web account system, our web-based point system was not fully functional during the past quarter. In order to alleviate any concerns about points affecting your opportunity to acquire stoles and cords, we have decided to temporary lift the point requirements for active membership.
You are no longer required to obtain 5 pts/qtr to retain active membership. You will, however, still be expected to obtain 15 pts/year to purchase stoles and cords. You may still rent stoles and cords with a deposit if you are not an active member; this deposit will be returned in full upon return of said items after graduation.
If you have any concerns about your points not being up to date, please e-mail our VP Internal Jennifer Wang.
Thanks,

HKN Kappa Psi President 2011-12posted on 13 Feb 2012 by Kevin HuynhFolding@home
HKN is doing their part to support Stanford's distributed computing project, Folding@home!
"Folding@home is a distributed computing project, that very simply stated, studies protein folding and misfolding."
Protein folding is linked to disease, such as Alzheimer's, ALS, Huntington's, Parkingson's disease, and many Cancers. Distributed computing shares the computational load, allowing normal (but awesome) individuals like ourselves to make a difference.
Of course, by HKN, we mean the HKN computer!
